Dear Interested Party:

As you know, the Council's provincial review process for Fiscal Year 2003 fish and wildlife project funding in the Columbia Basin is currently underway.

The Council has received final funding recommendations from both the Columbia Basin Fish and Wildlife Authority (see CBFWA's report) and the Independent Scientific Review Panel (ISRP) for the Mainstem and Systemwide project selection process.

The Council invites public comment on both documents until January 15, 2003. Based on the advice provided by CBFWA and the ISRP, the Council will then make a final selection of projects to recommend to the Bonneville Power Administration for funding.

Your written comments may be delivered to:

Mark Walker
Director of Public Affairs
Northwest Power Planning Council
851 SW Sixth Avenue, Suite 1100
Portland, OR 97204

Or emailed or faxed to , 503-820-2370.

The comment due date is established so that the Council can receive and consider comments in advance of its funding recommendation decision, tentatively scheduled for March 12, 2003. However, there is no ex parte period for this type of decision, and comments and discussions can be provided to the Council up to the time it makes its decision.

Thank you for your interest and participation in fish and wildlife issues.

Sincerely,

Steve Crow
Executive Director
Northwest Power Planning Council
