R E NRCS Recommendation to assist the Northwest Power Planning Council with program implementation
Dear Mr. Walker:
The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has provided technical assistance to private land users/owners for approximately 65 years. As a result of this working relationship, creditability and trust has been developed with these individuals and tribes.
The NRCS can be extremely beneficial and effective in assisting the Power Planning Council in implementing their programs. Our planning assistance utilizes the 9 steps of planning, which address all resources, thus providing for long term sustainability. Our assistance includes operation and maintenance responsibility that's assumed by the landusers.
We also bring to the table scientific information, and leveraging potential that affords us the greatest opportunity to address resource needs. We have the expertise, creditability, and trust that will enable us to be instrumental in assisting Bonneville in implementing their programs in the most efficient and productive manner with private landusers.
