What is the Transition Board?

On December 12, 1996, the governors of Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington appointed a four-member Northwest Energy Review Transition Board to ensure accountability, acceptance and implementation of the recommendations resulting from the 1996 Comprehensive Review of the Northwest Energy System. The Transition Board is to work with regional interests and the Bonneville Power Administration to oversee development of a subscription process for the sales of Bonneville's power and to evaluate the likelihood that the power will be fully subscribed. The Board will also provide liaison with the Northwest congressional delegation , review Bonneville's marketing plan and its role in the competitive electricity market, and provide guidance in the implementation of the Review's other recommendations.
