Council Expands Review of Fish Passage Center to Include an Analysis of Regional Fish Data Management ProgramsCouncil members approved the recommendations (90k PDF) of the subcommittee charged with reviewing the functions of the Fish Passage Center. The Council subcommittee had recommended that an outside firm audit the data collection programs in the region and report on whether consolidation could provide greater efficiency while maintaining or improving access to the data. Council Approves Budget to Integrate Hatchery Improvements with Subbasin PlansCouncil members approved actions

with subbasin plans — local plans to help fish and wildlife. The Council
believes that by developing basinwide objectives based on harvest,
hatchery, and natural escapement goals, the region will have a better
understanding of how hatcheries can contribute to both natural returns of
salmon and harvest needs. |
