They also approved a general process for addressing within-year requests. Council Initiates Forum to Assure Power System's AdequacyThe power committee was briefed (100k PDF) on the Council's progress to develop and implement a regional resource adequacy metric and standard. The need for more comprehensive measurements and a standard level of adequacy for each metric was identified in the Council's Fifth Power Plan. The Council's goal is to have a proposed regional resource adequacy metric and standard in place by 2006. Council members on the final tally of returning summer Chinook. LeFleur reported that the summer run came in at 60,200 fish, close to the
preseason forecast of 62,400. LeFleur also reviewed the management
guidelines, stocks, and forecast for the fall Chinook salmon run. Fish managers are forecasting a total run size of
671,400. In
response to Council members' questions on ocean harvest of fall Chinook, LeFleur said she
would provide a report to the Council in the future. |
