November 2007 IssueFinal Report on the Northwest's Power System CO2 Footprint Outlines the Challenges of Reducing Carbon Emissions, and Possible OptionsThe Council approved the release of its final report on the production of CO2 emissions from the region's power system. The paper was released for public comment in September, and the final report addresses some of the comments. The revised paper includes possible options to reduce carbon emissions, as well as additional information on other contributors to the production of CO2. Council Requests Public Comment on Its Electricity Price ForecastThe Council approved release of its revised electricity price forecast for public comment. The forecast includes revised fuel price forecasts, the estimated renewable resource acquisitions required by state renewable portfolio standards, and the resource acquisitions needed to maintain target resource adequacy standards. Council and Bonneville Agree on How Future Conservation Accomplishments Will Be CountedThe Council and the Bonneville Power Administration have reached agreement (520k PDF) on how the agency will count future energy-efficiency savings. The Council approved a letter to Bonneville endorsing its approach to conservation accounting. |
