Todd Ungerecht joined the Idaho office of the Council as fish and wildlife policy analyst in March 2019. Prior to that, Todd served 11 years in senior roles in the U.S. House of Representatives, including as Deputy Staff Director for the House Natural Resources Committee under Congressman Rob Bishop (UT), as Senior Counsel to U.S. Congressman Doc Hastings (WA) on both the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee and the House Ethics Committee. Todd served as senior policy advisor for the Northwest Region of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for over 5 years during the George W. Bush Administration, as legislative director for Congressman C.L. “Butch” Otter (ID), as a legislative assistant handling salmon policy for U.S. Senator Slade Gorton (WA) and in the personal office of Congressman Doc Hastings (WA). Earlier in his career, he worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney and attorney in private practice in Pasco, Washington. He is a graduate of, and obtained his law degree and bachelor of arts degree in political science/history from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
